Wantage in Harmony

Whether you sing in the shower or in the car, singing is fun. But singing in a choir is more than just a bit of fun. It's been scientifically proven that it is good for your health: from getting more oxygen into the blood, to increasing the flow of feelgood hormones and improving mental health. We rehearse on Tuesday Evenings in Wantage Baptist Church from 7:30 -9:30 PM, we sing a mixture of classic Gospel songs and more contemporary music, The is no audition or any requirements for singers, all are welcome. Our members range from 'Shower Singers' to accomplished musicians however we do not require any musical skill, we learn the music and generally sing from memory.
We have a social break (tea/coffee and biscuits) and a chat midway though the session.
A Little Bit More About Us

Created in September last year, "Wantage in Harmony" is a new community choir open to all abilities. Singing a mix of genres with an overall gospel vibe, the choir has quickly grown to around 60 regular singers and has switched from fortnightly to weekly rehearsals due to popular demand.

The choir performed publicly for the first time on 27th April 2019, guesting at a tribute to Mario Lanza featuring John Hudson of the English National Orchestra. Helen Goddard, choir chair, says: "I've been blown away by the enthusiasm of our singers and although initially nervous, we really enjoyed our first performance!"
